Digital Product Passport & Compliance

1. Purpose

DeviceStamp provides a verifiable trust layer for device tracking and Digital Product Passports (DPP). Our goal is to make lifecycle data both useful for business and auditable under emerging circular-economy regulation.

2. Core Principles

  • Event-level traceability anchored on scalable blockchain infrastructure
  • Separation of public proofs and privacy-protected payloads
  • Interoperability with existing diagnostics, wiping, and grading software via SDKs and APIs
  • Compliance-ready audit trails for regulators, OEMs, and marketplaces

3. Regulatory Alignment

Our architecture is designed to support current and upcoming frameworks for digital product passports and circular-economy reporting in the EU and other regions. The exact compliance scope depends on how each partner integrates DeviceStamp into their workflows.

4. Roles and Responsibilities

DeviceStamp typically acts as infrastructure and data processor, while the integrating partner or customer acts as data controller and defines:

  • Which lifecycle events are captured
  • What data is stored on-chain vs. off-chain
  • Retention periods and data subject request handling

5. Security & Data Protection

We follow industry-standard security practices for off-chain storage and node operation, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted operational access. For details, a technical security overview and Data Processing Addendum (DPA) are available upon request.
