Nirzhor Knitwear Moves Early on Digital Product Passport Readiness
A seven-day factory pilot with DeviceStamp turns future EU product-data expectations into practical workflows

Nirzhor is not waiting for Digital Product Passport requirements to become an urgent buyer request. The manufacturer is working with DeviceStamp now to understand its data, strengthen supplier evidence and build a repeatable readiness process.
Preparing Before the Market Demands It
Nirzhor Knitwear Ltd. has started a practical Digital Product Passport (DPP) readiness pilot with DeviceStamp. The work is taking place inside the factory, using real production records, compliance documents and supplier information—not a theoretical demonstration.
The DeviceStamp team arrived at 8:30 a.m. during the factory's morning opening period after travelling approximately 29 kilometres from Dhaka. The programme began with an implementation meeting and continued with a visit across the factory's operational departments.

A Factory-Led Implementation
Nirzhor's HR, compliance and merchandising representatives participated directly in the opening session. The factory team included:

- Other operational colleagues across departments
DeviceStamp was led by Md. Nazrul Islam, with support from Md. Ariful Islam Arif (industry engagement in Narayanganj), Jahidul Alam Mishuk (Project Manager), and Nurul Islam Khokon (production expert).
Nazrul explained the DPP framework, expected information flows and the purpose of the pilot. The teams discussed how product, supplier and compliance information is currently created, owned and exchanged across the factory.
What DeviceStamp is Helping Nirzhor Solve
Nirzhor does not currently operate an integrated ERP platform. Important information is therefore distributed across spreadsheets, certificates, departmental files, production records and supplier communications.
The challenge is not simply to collect more documents. It is to determine:
- Which information already exists and where it is held
- Who owns and updates each data point
- Which evidence can be verified and reused
- Where supplier-dependent gaps remain
- How the information can enter a repeatable DPP workflow
First Observations from the Factory
The opening day produced several concrete findings that will shape the remaining work.
1. Dyeing-House Evidence Needs a Simpler Route
Nirzhor expects difficulty obtaining structured and timely data from fabric dyeing houses. Chemical, process and environmental information is not always supplied in a consistent format. DeviceStamp will define the minimum evidence required and test a practical supplier-request process.
2. Knitting Suppliers Have Different Levels of Readiness
Some knitting sources have limited digital or compliance infrastructure. The pilot will assess whether standard forms, mobile-friendly submissions, document uploads and clearly identified supplier declarations can capture the necessary yarn, fabric, process and supplier information.
3. Printing and Embroidery Data Requires Stronger Structure
Printing and embroidery subcontractors may not maintain complete chemical-input and compliance records. DeviceStamp will identify the essential fields, acceptable supporting documents and a transparent method for handling information that is verified, supplier-declared, partial or missing.
The Implementation Principle
DeviceStamp is not asking Nirzhor to rebuild every dataset from zero. The pilot starts with the evidence already used by the factory, maps it to relevant DPP fields and isolates only the missing information.
Using Existing GOTS Evidence as a Practical Starting Point
Nirzhor's experience with GOTS-certified organic textile production provides useful, structured evidence. Examples include:
- Organic-fibre documentation
- Scope and transaction certificates
- Material-flow records
- Approved chemical inputs and Safety Data Sheets
- Subcontractor information
- Environmental-management records
GOTS and DPP are different systems, but relevant verified evidence may be reused where the data requirements overlap. DeviceStamp's global and local project teams will examine this overlap so that Nirzhor can avoid duplicate work while clearly identifying the additional information needed specifically for DPP readiness.
What the Seven-Day Pilot Will Deliver
Jahidul Alam Mishuk will continue working with six functional areas across the factory. The pilot will:
- Map required product and supply-chain data to its source and departmental owner
- Review available certificates, records and supplier evidence
- Classify information as verified, declared, incomplete or unavailable
- Identify priority gaps involving dyeing, knitting, printing and embroidery partners
- Recommend a practical process for collecting, validating and updating information
- Prepare a data-readiness assessment and implementation roadmap for Nirzhor
