DeviceStamp Expands Bangladesh DPP Infrastructure Initiative Through BGBA Industry Rollout
DeviceStamp is expanding its Bangladesh Digital Product Passport (DPP) infrastructure initiative through a strategic industry rollout together with the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA), one of the country’s leading garment trade organizations representing approximately 2,200 member companies across the apparel export ecosystem.
The initiative is focused on helping Bangladesh’s export-oriented textile and garment sector prepare for increasing international requirements around traceability, sustainability data, interoperability, and Digital Product Passport readiness linked to the European market.
As part of the rollout, BGBA distributed an official industry communication to its full member network encouraging companies to begin preparing for future Digital Product Passport requirements and evolving buyer expectations related to supply-chain transparency and product-level data infrastructure.
Bangladesh remains one of the world’s largest apparel exporting economies and a strategically important sourcing market for European and international brands. As Digital Product Passport frameworks and sustainability-related product requirements continue to develop under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), supplier-side operational readiness is becoming increasingly important across global textile supply chains.
The BGBA rollout is intended to support industry awareness, onboarding, education, and operational preparation across factories, buying houses, and export organizations.
Building Supplier-Side Infrastructure for Global Trade
Rather than positioning DPP as a standalone software requirement, DeviceStamp is building supplier-side infrastructure intended to help manufacturers and exporters manage structured product, factory, and compliance-related information across multiple downstream buyer and platform requirements.
The initiative focuses on:
- Supplier-side traceability infrastructure
- Product identity and interoperability
- Structured lifecycle and shipment data
- Export readiness support
- Training and onboarding programs
- EU market preparedness
The operational challenge facing many suppliers is not only compliance itself, but fragmentation across different buyer systems, reporting standards, and data requirements.
DeviceStamp’s infrastructure approach is designed to reduce this complexity through a neutral interoperability layer where suppliers can structure and manage data once while supporting multiple downstream requirements.
Industry Momentum Around Digital Product Passports
International buyers, regulators, and industry stakeholders are increasingly moving toward machine-readable traceability and lifecycle transparency across global product supply chains.
In textiles and apparel, Digital Product Passports are emerging as one of the central mechanisms for enabling product-level transparency related to sourcing, sustainability, materials, and lifecycle information.
Bangladesh’s role as a global apparel manufacturing hub makes early operational preparation strategically important both for exporters and for international brands sourcing from the region.
According to BGBA President Md. Abdul Hamid, the initiative is intended to help member organizations prepare proactively for the future direction of global trade and buyer expectations. He adds:
“Bangladesh must prepare early for the next generation of global trade requirements. Through this initiative with DeviceStamp Bangladesh, we want our members and exporters to stand strong, confident, and ready for the future international market.”
DeviceStamp global CEO Björn Eriksson stated:
“Bangladesh is one of the world’s most important apparel manufacturing ecosystems, and supplier-side infrastructure will become increasingly critical for future export competitiveness. We are proud to work together with BGBA to help build the infrastructure needed for the next era of traceable and trusted global trade.”
Md. Nazrul Islam, National Partner and Country Director of DeviceStamp Bangladesh, added:
“Many exporters understand that change is coming, but the path forward can feel fragmented and difficult. Our mission is to help Bangladesh suppliers move forward with clarity, structure, and practical support.”
Bangladesh Industry Rollout
Under the initiative, BGBA members are encouraged to:
- Learn about Digital Product Passports and future traceability requirements
- Begin onboarding and integrating the DeviceStamp DPP Gateway
- Participate in training and awareness programs
- Strengthen communication with international buyers regarding future preparedness
The rollout also includes onboarding incentives and long-term support programs for BGBA-associated factories participating through DeviceStamp Bangladesh.
The broader objective is to help strengthen Bangladesh’s long-term positioning within increasingly transparency-driven global supply chains while supporting practical supplier readiness for evolving international market requirements.
